Radiant Horizons is my newest artwork, a 16" x 20" piece painted with gouache on paper board. It's the largest piece I’ve tackled so far.

This painting captures a vibrant landscape, inspired by a photograph of the Red River east of the Denison Dam, right on the Texas-Oklahoma border. The scene is a play of opposites—the brilliant, dynamic sky above and the calm, reflective river below.

Sweeping clouds burst with shades of orange, yellow, blue, and gray, adding movement and drama to the sky. The wide river mirrors these colors, providing a quiet contrast. Both sides of the river are bordered by green fields, leading to distant ruins by the water's edge.

The composition highlights nature’s beauty through the play of light and shadow. It’s about the grandeur of the sunset, frozen in a moment where everything is caught in a bold dance of colors. This piece emphasizes nature's raw, dramatic presence, inviting viewers to pause and appreciate these fleeting yet powerful spectacles.
