Georgia on My Mind is an artwork measuring 12" x 16" and created using gouache. This piece is an abstract homage to the Appalachian Mountains, inspired by Georgia O'Keefe. My aim was to encapsulate the essence of the mountains through abstraction, channeling O'Keefe's influence.

The process of creating this artwork was unique, focusing heavily on abstraction to reinterpret the landscape. The intention was not to replicate nature exactly but to capture its spirit in a simplified, expressive form. By experimenting with colors and shapes, I sought to convey the depth and tranquility of the Appalachian range.

Georgia on My Mind presents a different approach to landscape art, allowing viewers to feel the mountains' majesty while simultaneously recognizing the tribute to O’Keefe's pioneering spirit. The abstract treatment invites endless interpretation, encouraging a personal connection with the scene.

With this work, I continue my exploration of abstraction, pushing the boundaries of my practice and inviting viewers to experience the intersection of nature and imagination.
